Decentraland Fashion Week 2023

This year’s Decentraland Metaverse Fashion Week which last year brought more than 100,000 guests , lasted for four days and had more than 60 brands that participated. 

Brands that participated were Dolce & Gabbana,  Tommy Hilfiger, Adidas, Diesel and other that have recognized the potential of retailing in web3. The entire event was packed with activities and creativity as the brands runway shows, after parties, shopping in the virtual world. 

Day 1 was focused on luxury and music as music events transpired, and Alo Yoga offer yoga sessions. 

Day 2 was all about retail, where Adidas made its mark by hosting a runway, as well as panel talks about fashion, technology, AI, metaverse. Adidas also gifted metaverse participants 5000 of their wall runner jacket, which the VP of Adidas Studios Erica Wykes-Sneyd explained as the move made to collect feedback on the NFT collection. 

Day 3 gave room to Decentraland fashion community. The wearables ranged from nature-inspired designs to dystopian cyberpunk art. There was also a panel discussion about metaverse innovations and fashion. 

Day 4 was reserved for emerging designers in the industry and it was discussed how metaverse can be used to build communities. 

 

Famous brands such as DKNY hosted an art gallery, a pizzeria and rooftop lounge, while Dolce & Gabbana organized a competition and Tommy Hilfiger had daily product drops. Diesel hosted a virtual party and displayed wearable NFT drops. 

 

What is the future of Metaverse Fashion Week?

This year’s Decentraland Fashion Week was less visited than the one before, which can be prescribed to various factors. However, a willingness and a next level of creativity is seen from the most famous brands and those that are emerging, meaning that the activities in retail and web3 are likely to continue and even blossom in the years to come.
