Shopify is launching NFT-gated storefronts

Shopify announced NFT-gated storefronts as a new feature for brands, looking to make their stores more exclusive.
Once again Shopify is showing how innovative they are. Not only that their innovative business concept is perfectly serving the small and medium-size retailers, but also are the functionalities of their solution unique and very innovative.As of today, they are the only POS software vendor in the world that supports NFT sales.

“Token holders connect a crypto wallet to unlock exclusive shopping experiences, from early access to drops and limited collections to one-of-a-kind experiences and other surprises,” the video explains.

Shopify has already partnered with
Adam Bomb Squad, Doodles, World of Women, Invisible Friends, Superplastic, Stapleverse, and Cool Cats NFT collection to create token-gated storefronts.

In addition to online token-gating, Shopify is adding “IRL” („In real life”) token-gating at brick-and-mortar stores, meaning that only eligible NFT holders can purchase selected merch at that physical location.

This is a great example for how the new customer loyalty concepts, based on NFTs and NFT communities, will be implemented in the future.
