Subway is one of the biggest franchising retailers in the world. Maybe even the biggest.
This giant is now testing bitcoin payments.
And this in Germany.
Usually, Germany is not that innovative but in this case, it’s exactly opposite.
Daniel Hinze the owner of the Berlin Subway franchise, recorded already over 120 Bitcoin transactions.
Subway is using for that Lightning Network layer-2 Bitcoin payments solution.
More than 10 years ago Subway already played with Bitcoin. At that time it was in Russia.
To incentivize the use of Bitcoin payment Subway offered in Berlin even 50% discount if customers are paying with Bitcoin.
