Forever 21 uses metaverse as a test environment for new products

Usually, retailers are creating their presence in Metaverse in order to sell new digital products. But Forever21 is using Metaverse a bit differently.

A year ago they started their Roblox adventure. They created several digital items to outfit their avatars. One of those products, black beanie, was sold for around 70 cents. And it was huge success – it was sold 1,5 million times this year.

It became brands best performing item ever.

Forever 21 is now bringing this item into the physical stores and the Metaverse version could be seen as a test.

“We love the idea of testing products digitally,” said Jacob Hawkins, chief marketing officer at Forever 21. “It costs us so much less to test a product digitally than to test it in stores”
